Preparing God's people for the service of
Jesus Christ

Welcome to the
Robert E. Cooley
Theological Seminary

Welcome to the Robert E. Cooley Theological Seminary, a newly established seminary that prepares men and women for service in the Worldwide Christian Church. We are proud to honor Dr. Robert E. Cooley, a distinguished educator and visionary leader, by naming our seminary after him. Dr. Cooley was called to be with the Lord on April 1, 2021, and we are committed to continuing his legacy and vision for a non-denominational theological education.

Who We Are

At the Robert E. Cooley Theological Seminary, we seek to provide accessible, affordable, and innovative theological education to students from all over the world. Our professors form an affinity group that we call a cohort, which means they go to students rather than the other way around. This saves time and money for the student.

We offer ATS accredited degrees and certificates in several areas of study, and our mentored ministry approach trains students to be pastors, youth ministers, local community chaplains, or highly qualified Sunday school teachers. We partner with Kairos University, churches, and other ministries to strengthen the reach and depth of the seminary. Our curriculum emphasizes traditional orthodox Christian thought, incorporating modern technology and innovative strategies to help our students thrive in today’s changing world.

Dr. Robert E. Cooley

Dr. Robert Earl Cooley was born on September 12, 1930, in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He was an accomplished researcher, professor, seminary president, and administrator, gaining national and international distinction not only as a preeminent scholar but also as a strategist, a futurist, and an innovative leader in theological education. In addition, Dr. Cooley was a pioneer in distance learning, a much sought-after expert in the governance of charitable institutions, and a founding member of the board of directors for the Museum of the Bible. Dr. Cooley was also known for his encyclopedic knowledge of the Bible, and his love of Biblical archaeology and its ability to authenticate the scripture and bring it alive. Throughout his career, Dr. Cooley traveled the world to promote Christian theological education internationally. We are proud to honor his legacy by naming our seminary after him.

"Robert E. Cooley Theological Seminary remains committed to serious study of Scripture in its full context. This means study of the ancient artifacts and the lands in which the events of Scripture took place. Other seminaries have reduced their course offerings in Scripture and the biblical languages; Cooley Theological Seminary has not. If you are serious about Scripture, then this is the seminary for you."
